The Peak 2 Peak Gondola is a large tourist attraction in the resort municipality of Whistler. The gondola stretches over the forest from Blackcomb Mountain to Whistler Mountain. When the gondola was first built it broke world records for the longest continuous lift system and highest gondola of its kind.
From its vantage point high up on the mountain the gondola offers great views of Whistler Village, mountains, lakes, glaciers and other alpine scenery.
About the Gondola
The Peak 2 Peak Gondola runs 436 metres above forest and is 4.4 km long. Visitors experience about an 11-minute ride from mountain to mountain.
Most gondola cars on the Peak 2 Peak are the normal kind with 360 degree windows and chairs. However, more thrill-seeking visitors can also ride the special glass-bottomed gondola for views of the forest floor.
The Peak 2 Peak Gondola is open most of the year in both the winter and the summer. In the summer people can enjoy the 360 Degree Experience included with the gondola. This ticket allows visitors to access a network of hiking trails as well as the Cloudraker Skybridge. In the winter people can use the gondola to easily transfer between Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains for skiing and boarding. It allows snow sport enthusiasts to ride the Peak of Whistler and 7th Heaven all in the same day.
Prices and Hours
Prices for the Peak 2 Peak Gondola vary depending on the season and the day of the week. The 2026 spring season runs from April 13th to May 18th. The summer season, meanwhile, tends to run from aroud mid-June until late September. During the summer, the Peak 2 Peak Gondola is included as part of the 360 Experience. Prices for the 2026 spring season are listed below. These are the window rates. The pre-book rates are between $2 and $5 less.

During the summer months, the Peak 2 Peak Gondola is included as a part of the 360 Experience. Other amenities included in this experience are the Cloudraker Skybridge and access to over 50 km of hiking and walking trails.
Tips & Advice
As the Peak 2 Peak Gondola is located in the alpine, people are recommended to wear warm clothing and dress in layers. In general, the alpine level of the mountain is anywhere from 5 to 10 degrees cooler than in the village.
The Peak 2 Peak Gondola is a very popular attraction in the town of Whistler. Wait times are generally longer on weekends and holidays. It’s best to arrive early or, if possible, go on a weekday to ensure a faster trip up the mountain.
