The Whistler Children’s Festival features a series of kid-friendly events and activities in the spring or summer. In 2024 it happens at the ski resort in May.
Whistler Children’s Festival
The Whistler Children’s Festival includes many fun activities dedicated to kids. There are arts and crafts and even singing and dancing. Some activities are free while others aren’t. Parents can participate along with their children which makes the festival a memorable experience for the entire family!
The event is supported by the Arts Whistler non-profit whose goal is to build a more connected community through art. The Whistler Children’s Festival used to happen in the summer. However, in 2022 it happened over two weekends in May. The same was the case in 2023. In 2024, the festival runs from May 17th to 19th, so for just one weekend.
2024 Festival
The 2024 Whistler Children’s Festival features live performances, workshops, free activities, and more for children. Most ticketed activities take place at the Maury Young Arts Centre. This year’s other main venue is Whistler Olympic Plaza.
On May 17th, there’s a new Street Party outside the Maury Young Arts Centre. It runs from 4:00 to 6:00 pm and includes chalk drawings, live music, face painting and other kid-friendly activities. Following that day, there are three ticketed performances and six workshops happening on each of May 18th and 19th.
The live entertainment includes performers like Michael Harrison, Will’s Jams, Travis Bernhardt and more. Tickets for shows are available online. They cost $20 each or $70 for four. There are also educational workshops with Science World and other organizations. Kids get to learn about everything from theatre and dancing to science and music. Workshops cost $15 each to attend.
At Whistler Olympic Plaza throughout the weekend, there are scavenger hunts, puppet shows, and other fun things to see and do as well.
