When the gondola was first built it broke world records for the longest continuous lift system and highest gondola of its kind.
From its vantage point high up on the mountain the gondola offers great views of Whistler Village, mountains, lakes, glaciers and other alpine scenery.
About the Gondola
The Peak 2 Peak Gondola runs 436 metres above forest and is 4.4 kilometres long. Visitors experience about an 11-minute ride from mountain to mountain.
Most gondola cars on the Peak 2 Peak are the normal kind with 360 degree windows and chairs. However, more thrill-seeking visitors can also ride the special glass-bottomed gondola for views of the forest floor.
The Peak 2 Peak Gondola is open most of the year in both the winter and the summer. In the summer folk can enjoy the 360 Degree Experience included with the gondola.
