The Whistler Listel Hotel offers relaxing 3.5-star accommodations in Whistler Village, with easy access to ski slopes and other popular attractions in town.
The Listel Hotel in Whistler
Whistler’s Listel Hotel is a comfortable and conveniently located place to stay. It’s a 3-level building with a total of 98 rooms available. There are 4 different types of accommodations to choose from, each of which is competitively priced. The deluxe rooms either come with 2 queen beds or one king bed, along with slightly different amenities discussed further below. The Listel’s pricier suites are more spacious and offer one king-sized bed plus a pullout sofa and more.
Checking in at the hotel can be done after 4:00 pm, and everyone needs to check out by 11:00 am. Only people aged 21 and above are allowed to check in (i.e., sign the paperwork). For folks travelling with their pets, furry friends are welcome in some rooms at an additional cost of about $25 per night. As per the hotel’s policy, pets are permitted in the main areas of the hotel, but not in places like the hot tub, patio or restaurants.
The hotel gets a 3 Green Key rating from the Hotel Association of Canada for its environmental initiatives, one of which is the fact that they have a compost container for food waste in each room (which is something you don’t see at most hotels).
When we stayed at the Listel we were in one of their deluxe rooms with 2 queen beds. The room was modern, comfortable and offered all we needed. There was a small fridge that we could put our own cold drinks in. Filtered water and ice was available had we wanted it. The tea drinker among us liked the fact that there was both a coffee maker and a separate kettle for tea (which is nice because coffee machines that make tea always give tea a bit of a coffee flavour).
Where is the Hotel?
The Listel’s address is 4121 Village Green in Whistler Village. The hotel is very close to both Whistler Mountain and Blackcomb’s slopes which makes it very convenient. However, it’s in a quiet area so the visitor experience is relaxing overall. In addition, Whistler Golf Club is about a 5-minute walk away, making the Listel Hotel a good choice for warmer months as well.
Of course, staying in the Whistler Village is advantageous on its own. The Village is a wonderful destination with lots to do throughout the year. In terms of indoor activities, there’s the Audain Art Museum and Whistler Museum. In addition, there are plenty of restaurants and places to shop in town. Just a short drive away there is the Scandinave Spa as well as outdoor adventures like Vallea Lumina, Superfly Ziplines, Whistler’s Aerial Obstacle Course, RZR (All-Terrain Vehicle) Tours, Snowmobiling Opportunities and other fun things to do.
Hotel Amenities
The Listel Hotel in Whistler offers complimentary Wi-Fi and access to its on-site hot tub and sauna between 11:00 am and 9:00 pm each day. Casual cycling and mountain biking are popular activities in the summer, so the Listel Hotel also offers free bike storage during those months. In winter there are also secure storage facilities for skis and snowboards.
As mentioned previously, there are 4 types of rooms available to book. All rooms include triple sheeting, a high-definition television, temperature control, a safe, mini refrigerator, coffee and tea makers, a hair dryer, ironing utilities and more. There is also an on-site coin laundry that guests can use. If requested, most rooms can be connected to a neighbouring deluxe room, which can be especially good for large groups.
Suites at the Listel offer more spacious rooms with queen sofa beds in addition to a king-sized bed. Measuring about 600 square feet, Premium Suites are almost twice the size of Junior Suites, and they exclusively come with a luxurious bathroom and gas-powered fireplace. We have never stayed in one, but understand they are very nice rooms!
The hotel offers secure underground parking. Compared to some places we’ve stayed at, including other hotels in Whistler, the parking stalls are a good size. Access to the parking area is at the back of the building.
Dining Options at the Hotel
Although exploring Whistler Village during your stay is highly recommended, the Listel Hotel is home to Bearfoot Bistro which is arguably one of Whistler’s premier dining destinations. As of late January 2022, the restaurant is only open after 3:30 pm each day, and dinner service is between 5:30 and 10:00 pm. We haven’t eaten there ourselves, but it looks fancy and the food gets very good reviews.
Also on-site is the Champagne Lounge for evening drinking and live piano music. In the warmer months of the year, the Listel in Whistler also opens their patio with a live DJ and full dinner and bar service.
In addition to the restaurant and lounge, inside the hotel there is a Vodka ice room. It’s a cold room, a bit like a fancy bar crossed with a walk-in refrigerator. It also sort of looks like the inside of a luxurious igloo or what a small bar might look like in an ice castle. If you like vodka, a visit to the tasting room makes for a memorable experience.
